March 1, 2009 Phil and Lynn Ritter from Sausalito/Forestville Thank-you again for providing this great place to get away - as with last year, we enjoyed our visit immensely and hope you have a great year. As we were later in the season the young whale calves were bigger - I saw one breach completely clear of the water!
..February 16th - February 20th, 2009 Kim and Chris from Annapolis, MD Aloha! This was our 7th time to Maui and we like the accomodations just as much, if not more than any other condo. The view is fantastic (whales everyday) we had great meals at Capishe and Nick's Fishmarket. We saw a mom teaching her calf how to breach at Big Beach. There is a cardinal who joined us each evening for happy hour on the lanai. We are off to Kapalua for a few days. Mahalo!
..February 10, 2009 Jim and Denise from Calgary, Alberta Well what a place! We lost count of the number of whales we saw from the lanai...many, many, many... Wonderful location and condo - we were very comfortable. It's a shame to be going back to snow!! Thanks, Erin! P.S. Very nice decor! I am an avid quilter, so I really liked the lovely Hawaiian quilted wall hanging.
..November 23th - November 30th, 2008 Julie and Taylor from San Francisco, CA Aloha, Erin! We really enjoyed our time here and were finally able to relax after a very busy year in San Francisco. The view from the condo is stunning and coffee on the lanai each morning was a favorite activity. We also loved the nearby beaches and spent most of our time at Big Beach and Paipu Beach, as well as the fish taco stand (red trailer) across from Big Beach...amazing people and tacos there! Some of our other favorites were: Sansei, Mama's Fish House, Joe's and Spago. We made the sunrise trek to Haleakala which was cold, but worthwhile especially since we stopped at the adorable Kula Lodge afterwards. We really can't wait to return to Wailea and Ekolu which is the perfect spot to enjoy all of the surrounding areas. Mahalo to you and your family!
..November 20, 2008 Rob and Catherine from Vancouver, BC Aloha! We had a wonderful week in Maui! We loved the condo, Erin. The view is fabulous and your interior decorating touches made it very homey. We had great weather and enjoyed playing tennis and golf. We loved playing golf at the Wailea Emerald and Gold Courses. We went to 3 different beaches and loved them all we went for lots of great dinners including Longhi's, Tommy Bahamas, Mulligans (great entertainment), Sansei's and Spices. Our favorite was Cafe O'Lei's. Thanks again. We hope to be back real soon.
..October 24th - October 31st, 2008 Bobbie and Nils Johnson from Camarillo, CA This is our 2nd trip to Maui, the first 20+ years ago! After several weeks of enduring economic turmoil, it was great to forget it all in this fabulous condo! We explored the island enjoying: Maui Ocean Center, Lahaina, trip to Hana with a 4 mile hike through bamboo forest to a 300 foot waterfall (well worth the time!), Maui Winery, Downhill Maui (biking down the road from Haleakala) Flatbreak Pizzeria in Paia, wind surfing (observing only!), relaxing at the beach with a good book and a fabulous vacation end dinner at Spago/Four Seasons Resort. We so enjoyed our stay here, but it is time to return to work so we can come again! Thank-you for sharing this special place with us.
..October 11th - October 18th, 2008 Matt and Sharon Schroeder from Denver, CO Well, here we are on the lanai enjoying our last evening of peaceful ocean views from Ekolu before we head back home! Our 10th anniversary trip, 2nd time in Maui and 3rd to Hawaii was just spectaular! My wife and I agree that this is the nicest place we have every stayed here - we made it our home for a week! Erin, thanks for your helpfullness, attention to detail and williness to share your "slice of paradise" with us! The snorkeling was great - we tried several places, but liked Maluaka Beach the best. We lost a snorkel/mask and 1 fin somewhere in the Pacific Ocean - if you find 'em you can keep 'em! (Watch out for those rogue waves) Favorite Restaurants: Nick's in the Fairmont (food), 5 palms (view) and Ekolu #208 (homemade foofy drinks, view, atmosphere, music etc) and thanks for the beach chairs (great!), the boogie boards (too fun!) and the beach umbrellas (too much sun...ouch) See you again soon!
..September 25th - October 1st, 2008 Anne and Ken Copeland from Melbourne, Australia 6 nights - should have been 6 months! After a 9 week world tour, what better way to end it. Loved 208, loved the sun, loved the snorkelling, loved the beach, but hated to leave! We won't tell too many people about our slice of heaven here, as we don't want it booked out!! Farewell Maui - see you again very soon.
..July 8th - August 12th, 2008 We have enjoyed another wonderful vacation on Maui!! The view from this condo is spectacular and the pools very quiet, clean and relaxing! We loved walking by the beaches every morning and some evenings. There are many great places to see and this year we enjoyed going to the Maui Ocean Center with our daughter. The week pass was an awedome deal (only $4 more per person than the day pass) and we ended up going four times during the week. Our favorite places to eat on this trip were Chicago Pizzeria (Lahaina), Matteo's Pizzeria (Wailea), Molikini Lounge (Makena - Maui Prince) - all very good, great view and family/kid friendly! We can't wait to return! We absolutely love it here!! Marica and Mark and Brooke from Alberta, Canada
..June 17th - June 21st, 2008 The Wilson Family from Walnut Creek, CA Aloha to all! Your condo is just beautiful. We love your attention to details, the decor etc. are all lovely. We loved the boogie-boards, used them at Big Beach and Wailea Beach. Most days were too windy to hit the beaches - blowing sand. Drove to the volcano and walked around. Hiked in Iao Valley and had a picnic. Spent a 1/2 day at the Ocean Center. Kids loved the murphy bed and Mom and Dad loved having their own T.V!! Wonderful meals and sunsets enjoyed on lanai. You have nice neighbors. We hope to come back again. This was our 15th anniversary trip with the kids. Spent the 1st 5 nights at Westin in Kaanapali - this was our favorite 1/2 of vacation by far!!
..June 2nd - June 16th, 2008 Jen and Ken Peterson from Greenlake, Seattle, WA We had a fabulous time on Maui. The first few days were a little stressful as we were getting the final details set for our wedding. We were married 06-07-08 at Po'olenalena Beach. We did a photo shoot at the Grand Wailea in the morning, ceremony in the evening with Reverand Alapaki (who was fantastic) and our reception was here at the pavillion. The wedding was great, but we were really happy to relax more when it was over. We really enjoyed staying here and can't wait to come back. We went out to eat several times while here with friends and family. Our favorite was Roy's in Kihei...great food! Humuhumu at the Grand Wailea had a fabulous atmosphere, but overpriced for what they serve. The best sushi we had was at Sansei in Kihei, best pizza at Flatbread Pizza in Paia. We also enjoyed walking along the trail in Wailea in the mornings, swimming and snorkeling at Ulua Beach and playing in the waves at Big Beach. Aloha and Mahalo!
..May 13th - May 27th, 2008 Sue and Tom from Reno, NV We have had a great time here in Maui. A big part of that was this condo. It had all we needed and more. Our son's wedding is what brought us here. It was on the 17th at the Grand Wailea. There were about 50 friends and family on the island. Most agreed that saw #208 we had the best. Once the wedding was over we had a great time relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view from the lanai. We look forward to returning again and again. Many Thanks!
..April 26th - April 4th, 2008 Keith and Michelle Tanimoto from Tokyo, Japan We had a delightful time staying in your condo #208. With beautiful ocean view, golf course and fully equiped kitchen. First time we visited Maui was 22 years ago on our honeymoon at Kaanapali and almost once every 2 years we have visited. We enjoyed golfing, shopping and cooking. Your herb and pepper collection is nice and cathedral ceiling fan made it comfortable. Thank-you very much for giving us a memorable moment. We hope we come back again. Aloha and Mahalo!
..April 7, 2008 Jill, Carly and Lauren Spink from Gresham, OR Thank-you for such a great place! We enjoyed it so much - I brought my two daughters for a girls trip before one of them gets married in September. We made some great memories together. We enjoyed all the beaches, sun, surt, shopping, restaurants and sunset cruise. I come to the islands at least twice a year and am happy to have a great new place to stay. Mahalo!
..March 25, 2008 Bill and Mindi Gardner from Washington, DC This is our 12th (and departure) day in Ekolu 208. It's a great condo and we enjoyed our visit immensely. We bought great local fish from Eskimo Candy and cooked it often. The facilities are excellent. We also loved the wi-fi - made things easy for us. Never turned on the a/c - no need. Highly recommended: General Store in Hailemale for lunch, Eskimo Candy for lunch, Mateo's down the road for pizza, Lahaina Grill and Oyster Bar for good broiled walu. Golfers thry Makena North and Pukalani for a change from Wailea. Thanks for a great vacation.
..March 11, 2008 Richard and Gayla Lengden from Canada We arrived after sun down so we had no idea the incredible ocean views we would awake to. We just say on the lanai sipped our coffee and just took it all in. We both love to golf and Maui did not disappoint. We played three courses, Elleair, Kahili and the Old Blue Course. Twilight at Kahili is the best value, well manicured course and friendly staff. Erin, your condo has everything we needed and more. We love Maui so much my wife is trying to convince me to return again next March, this would be our first choice. This has been a great two weeks and a wonderful place to call home. The sunset views off the lanai were spectacular every night! The lanai over looking the golf course allowed for scenic relaxation. Thank-you very much for opening up your home to us. Mahalo!
..February 17, 2008 Lynn and Phil Ritter Thank-you for your generosity! We have stayed in South Maui about six or seven times and this is the best ever. Things that really worked for us: 1) A kitchen which did not require a visit to Azeka Hardware for minimal tools to cook 2) All the small details like a real spice rack and real knives 3) The two bathrooms and lots of different places to sit and read and 4) Everything worked! and when the fans and lights went dead on the lanai Louise and Jim responded admirably and fixed them the next day 5) The internet and phone connection and cable with TCM to watch the oscar winners for the last 30 years. Local highlights: 1) Makena Beach 2) Sunset sail on "Scotch Mist" out of Lahaina (with a full out of the water whale breach about 100 feet away 3) Breakfast at Seawatch 4) Well stocked Safeway - with more local fish than 5) Eskimo Candy Fish Market 6) Sorrento's at 5:30 for a romantic sunset blow-out. Mahalo!
..December 19th, 2007 Mark and Christi from Washington We had an outstanding trip and are so glad we found this incredible condo! We usually stay at the Marriott by the Shops of Wailea, but the space, privacy, view, kitchen and don't forget the washer and dryer are perfect here! We got tons of great pictures, both underwater and above water and I'll post them on my website at http://MarkSwatzell.com..
..November 18th, 2007 What a fabulous view - great condo - lovely setting. Glad to have discovered this jewel a place. Thank-you! Ann and Randy from Clarendon Hills, IL
..October 19th, 2007 Thank-you for sharing your condo with us! We have been to Maui several times, but this was the first time we stayed in Wailea and we will be back! Your condo is very comfortable. The evenings out on the lanai were comfortable and very calming. You could sleep out there! It was fun playing the "blue course" and seing our spot on the course. Thanks again and we will be back - Pyllis and Mike from Keller, TX
..October 8th, 2007 Thank-you for providing a perfect place to stay. From the first time we laid our eyes on Unit #208 we knew it was our home away from home. We came to Maui to get "Maui'd" and the Ohana was one of many things that made the trip a success. In fact, many of our guest gave us so many compliments when they came to visit. I must say that one of the best things about this place was the bed. It was so comfortable that we could hardly get out of it in the mornings! We hope we can come back for our 1st wedding anniversary! Sincerely, Ingrid and Erik..
...October 2, 2007 Well....Miss Erin....You've done it again. Spoiled us (as usual) with this condo and all the love, thoughtful design and decor and all the amenities that you offer - we coule not be happier with our time (the 2nd one) spent at your condo! Keep up the great work renting it and puting smiles on everyone face who stays...Best to You! Nancy Tinsley...See You Next Time!
..September 8th - September 16th, 2007 Aloha! We came from Tokyo for a late summer vacation. Almost every year we had been anywhere in Hawaii during this season. This place has a great situation, a wonderful view and sunset everyday. We are sure this #208 was the best condo we have ever stayed in Hawaii. We enjoyed Haleakala town, Wailea Beach, (body boarding, "big wave" coming) and more golfing. We played 8 rounds during our stay here. The last day we played 54 Holes!! Anway, we (Asato and Mimako) are so much appreciate you, Erin, for offering us a great vacation. We hope to come back again!! Mahalo from Asato, Japan.
22th - August 18th, 2007 I want to take this time to thank you for such a wonderful stay. Everyone that came to Maui with us stayed at different places all over the island and all agreeeded that our condo was the best room accomodations on the island. We loved everything about the condo and its location in Maui. The view was the cherry on top! The bed was soft and OH so comfortable!!!! My fiance and I couldn't of asked for a better place and deal for our wedding weekend. Coming back to the room made the joy of staying in Maui and the events of the day even more enjoyable we can't wait to stay in this condo again next year. Arminia Bisear (now Gordon) and Christopher Gordon
..July 2nd - August 2nd, 2007 We had an awesome vacation here! What a gorgeous view! We have been to Maui 6 times and have enjoyed this accomodation the most! Our favorite place to eat was the Kumu Lounge at the Wailea Marriott. The food and service were great and the sunset view was spectacular. We enjoyed many hours by the pools here and thought they were very clean and quiet. We look forward to returning soon! Maricia, Mark and Brooke from Alberta, Canada
..March 2nd - March 11th, 2007 The Parks Family from Washington We have been visiting Maui for over ten years. Three of those years we loved in Kihei. This was our first time staying in Wailea. Our time at Ekolu has been unforgetable! From the moment we arrived we made #208 our home away from home. The condo has all the extras and there was not need to leave "our 'ohana". The unit is very clean, private and quiet. I loved waking up each morning to an amazing view. I was reminded each day by the birds song, passing boats and whale sightings...what an inspiring ohana this is. Because Wailea is so peaceful we would love to make Ekolu part of our annual family vacation. Many Mahalos to the Carey Family. If time Allows we recommend checking Out: The Maui Ocean Center, Frogman or Quicksilver out of Maalea to Molokini, Trilogy out of Lahaina to Lanai, Tedeschi Vineyards in Ulupalakua, Snasei Suchi Bar in Kihei, Mamas Fish House in Paia, David Pauls in Lahina, Makena Beach, Kamaole Beach Park 1. Wherever you go share the Aloha and enjoy the people and beauty that make the Hawaiian Islands. Aloha!
..February 24th - March 2nd, 2007 Chuck and Ann Powers from Bainbridge Island, WA We arrived Sunday afternoon to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and we feel like we've been in heaven! Ever since! Your home is delightful. I'm an interior designer by profession and your entire place is charming, warm and tasteful. Thank-you for being such wonderful host. Chuck and I enjoyed snorkeling at Makena Beach and Ahihi Beach where we saw turtles and geogeous fish. We highly recommend Makena Grill, a little stand voted best tacos for 2006 (open 11-4ish). Take Wailea Ike down towards the Shops of Wailea, turn left and Wailea Alanui and just follow the road 'til you're across from Pa'ko Beach ("Secret Cove") It's approximately 4.5 miles from the Shops of Wailea and you'll pass several other small stands that cannot compete with the Makena Grill on the way there (don't bother to Stop!) Each morning we "power walked" the boardwalk in front of the ocean front hotels which are terrific. One day we checked out the Grand Wailea and the next we strolled through the Four Seasons. The art gallery at the Grand Wailea is a must see and be sure to see the collection of Picasso's in the room owned by the gentleman who built this great hotel. What a treat! We thought both hotels were beautiful, but our vote went to the Four Seasons which we found to have an understated elegance. We drove to Honokowai, north of Ka'anapali to visit friendly briefly one afternoon and were awestruck by two things : first the non-moving traffic headed in the opposite direction for miles-on-end and secondly how built-up Ka'anapali has become. This made us extra grateful fro trying Wailea this time. The view alone from your place is pure peace and tranquility. Many thanks again! May God Bless you Richly -
